Our next full moon is known as The Cold Moon π It will be at it’s peak on Thursday 4th December, in only a weeks time! ποΈ Approaching mid-winter, after the days become shorter, the temperature can drop quite suddenly. βοΈ
This week so far has been pretty cold and here are a few things I noticed that helped me stay on-top of my practice…
The air outside is sharp, but brisk and energising. Perfect to start a routine to get moving. πββοΈ Whether it is walking, yoga or running, building heat helps maintain yang energy which keeps balance under the full moon. The passing cars peacefully light-up the roads houses are decorated for the upcoming holidays too. Exercising in these colder but cosy conditions can help keep the body healthy and the mind alert, ready for the winter ahead! β
Embrace the cold! Explore your strength and find balance. βοΈ
No night gear? You can still go on evening walks following the street lamps! Slowly build the amount of time you spend outside. Bring a flask of hot cocoa or malted barely! π Notice what nature is around you. What are the colours of the leaves on the trees? π² Which berries are on the bushes? π« What animals do you meet? π¦ Would you bring a notepad next time to sketch or write a letter? βοΈ How are you inspired? π¨
In an indoor environment that is not your usual practise space? Roll-out your mat next to wherever you are! π Cleanse this space daily and practise restorative yoga, layer-up and use your tools and props to help you feel at ease. Make it your safe place for this winter. π©·
And most importantly, whatever you do, sleep as much as you need. When your body rests it can recover. Meditate and manifest your goals in these moments, and you may find you do them sooner than you think! β¨
Feel at peace and connected to this local community. π§ββοΈ
How has your practise changed this past week? π
